No County Money for Real

Well the county has turned down Real Salt Lake's request for subsidies for their new soccer stadium.

This is a victory not only for the taxpayers of Salt Lake but also the many people who come here to visit. They should not have to pay for a stadium that is intended for primarily local fans. It is no different from Las Vegas who is gouging tourist in order to pay for a performing arts center for its residents.

It will be interesting to see what ways Real comes up with to blackmail goverment into paying for their stadium. Lets hope our legislators and other goverment officials will not give in to the "we will move" blackmail or anyother attempt to still get the money out of the goverment.

Let Real pay for their own stadium.
