The Governor goes with McCain
Utah governor backs McCain; his dad prefers Romney
When Huntsman was first running for governor, I was not really impressed. To me he came off as another rich guy running for political office who would not understand the needs of the average citizen and would following the GOP collective like a good little drone.
However, since his election I have been impressed more and more with him, as he seems to stand for what he believes in and will not blindly follow like so many others. In fact it seems like some of the power hungry legislators want to take his power away because he seems to think for himself.
I have to give him credit again by going against the flow. While there may be some other motives in the background, he went against his own father to support McCain despite Romney being a member of the same church.
It could turn out to be a very interesting political season. I just would like to enter the voting booth supporting a candidate, not voting for the less of two evils. Maybe the Democrats will find a good candidate that will also be worth voting for (not H. Clinton) and we could actually have great election.
Only time will tell...
